The best way to know the self is feeling oneself at the moments of reckoning. The feeling of being alone, just with your senses, may lead you to think more consciously. More and more of such moments may sensitize ‘you towards you’, towards others. We become regular with introspection and retrospection. We get ‘the’ gradual connect to the higher self we may name Spirituality or God or just a Humane Conscious. We tend to get a rhythm again in life. We need to learn the art of being lonely in crowd while being part of the crowd. A multitude of loneliness in mosaic of relations! One needs to feel it severally, with conscience, before making it a way of life. One needs to live several such lonely moments. One needs to live severallyalone.

It can be said modification, alteration or simply, editing, but my concept behind it goes beyond all these connotations of digital treatment of a photograph.

Here, I am trying to create, something new, totally unrelated, with an altogether different meaning from what the original had.

From a photograph on how it looked and what it conveyed when I clicked it initially – to a digitally treated photograph with a changed personality of its own – an effort to give it a run of metamorphosis to sport a new look, to convey a different meaning.

I call it Digitally Transfigured Photography (#DTP) aiming to achieve with it what ‘Transfigure’ literally means – to transform into something more beautiful or elevated – using some of my chosen but unused photographs.

And aesthetically, my efforts are to keep the changed personality of the photographs into the realm of the abstract.

I want these transfigured photographs to convey more than what I intended to. If the abstract in these photographs could make the others find their own interpretations, it would really be good. And I would love to have the blessing of looking at more meanings into it than what went into naming it.

I would employ the digital tools that suit the mood of the process - that cater to the fulfilment of my intent - and complement the abstract metamorphosis – giving it an exalted and spiritual appearance – the Transfiguration that speaks.

It is an experiment to explore the next extension of my creative urge – fiction, non-fiction, poetry and photography – aligning my thoughts with the possibilities the digital editing tools can reveal while working on a particular photograph – an experiment performed in thoughts and aided digitally – the Digitally Experimented Photography (DEP/#DEP).
