The best way to know the self is feeling oneself at the moments of reckoning. The feeling of being alone, just with your senses, may lead you to think more consciously. More and more of such moments may sensitize ‘you towards you’, towards others. We become regular with introspection and retrospection. We get ‘the’ gradual connect to the higher self we may name Spirituality or God or just a Humane Conscious. We tend to get a rhythm again in life. We need to learn the art of being lonely in crowd while being part of the crowd. A multitude of loneliness in mosaic of relations! One needs to feel it severally, with conscience, before making it a way of life. One needs to live several such lonely moments. One needs to live severallyalone.

DIFFICULT TIMES FOR DEMOCRACY IN INDIA

It has become routine to say that these are difficult times for the country.

Taking a look back in the near and in the far past of the Independent India takes one to a journey of ever increasing scale of problems threatening the democratic existence of the country – a democracy that was put to the path of derailment even before it could learn to aspire to become a ‘free’ country of ‘free’ people for ‘free’ people.

Yes, we are not free and our freedom is increasingly being threatened and compromised by the elitism of the political class.

In India of the day, ‘politics of electoral priorities’ is now totally dominated by a ‘politics of inheritance’.

Politics in India of the day has become a sort of family business where political reigns are being transferred, from one family member to the other, from one generation to the next, with no regard for democratic health of the nation.

The process has continued for decades and the erosion has resulted today in an insensitive and alienated political class that has started behaving likes kings making India their kingdom and making its different parts their fiefdoms.

Time and again, their acts remind us of this increasing subversion of democracy by the politicians who are supposed to preserve and strengthen our democracy, whom we elect for the very purpose, and whom we give authority and sanctity.

Only, to be duped by them!

For how long is the most pertinent question that India needs to be answered soon.
