The best way to know the self is feeling oneself at the moments of reckoning. The feeling of being alone, just with your senses, may lead you to think more consciously. More and more of such moments may sensitize ‘you towards you’, towards others. We become regular with introspection and retrospection. We get ‘the’ gradual connect to the higher self we may name Spirituality or God or just a Humane Conscious. We tend to get a rhythm again in life. We need to learn the art of being lonely in crowd while being part of the crowd. A multitude of loneliness in mosaic of relations! One needs to feel it severally, with conscience, before making it a way of life. One needs to live several such lonely moments. One needs to live severallyalone.

BATTLE OF GUJARAT BEGINS: DESPIT POOR VITALS, WHAT MAKES CHANCES OF MODI WINNING IT AGAIN
=================================================================

Can a national leadership’s ignominy translate to a state leader’s boon?

And what about when there are multiple precursors to the ignominy?

Yes, and that is going to be one of the major factors in having Modi yet another term in the office.

Those issues that have undercurrent at the state level, though having genesis at the national level, play out significantly in the local electoral equations.

It may not be a matter of concern for an ‘aam aadmi’ sort of the Indian voter (the majority) if India is formally admitted in the Nuclear Suppliers Group or given a permanent seat at the UN Security Council or even if India permits 100 per cent FDI in the multi-brand retail.

But it hurts him when he finds himself grinding on the treadmill underneath the corrupt ways of the political class. Though corruption is seen as a way of life in this country by many, the huge and unprecedented support to Anna Hazare on the anti-corruption fight tells us its is very much alive at the subconscious level and can regain the conscious level when pushed too hard.

And the UPA-2 at the centre has been pregnant with corrupt progenies riding high on the nefarious deliveries already by its womb. Likes of Rajas and Kalmadis are getting unabashed support from the Congress. Recently, they have been nominated to the parliamentary committees by the grand old party of India.

It’s shameful. And equally shameful was the response by the Congress party spokespersons. They said they couldn’t do anything and it was a matter of parliamentary privileges. It is the same party that had forced the Rajya Sabha to sine-die at midnight during the Lokpal debate last December.

Clearly, Congress has forgotten any lessons it had learnt in its arrogance. Questionable assets of Robert Vadra would only add to the Congress’ miseries giving electoral mileage to the rival parties and Modi is certainly the one.

It hurts the ‘aam aadmi’ when he has to cough up his hard earned money in different types of under-the-table convenience bills, even if it his provident fund money.

It hurts him when every other day he finds the prices going irreversibly up.

It hurts him when, in place of putting sincere efforts on controlling prices, he is given the lectures on austerity and tough measures in the name of some impending economic crisis while the ministers and the bureaucrats shamefully splurge on the taxpayers’ money.

It hurts him when he sees his condition getting worse irrespective of what direction the Sensex, the GDP growth and the inflation figures are taking.

It hurts him when he sees himself lost in the sprawling slums of the urban India decimating the hopes with which he had migrated to make a living to support his family back in the hinterland.

The Indian National Congress has its hands full with the precedents of utmost moral ruin and behavioural debauchery. And these acts have played out across the nation and in the electoral heat, Gujarat is going to do some loud chatting and listening during the campaign phase, amplifying the corrupt misdeeds of the UPA-2 government.

Narendra Modi has failed on vital social parameters and has not performed so well on the industrial growth the way he has projected but what the UPA-2 has done to promote and to curb corruption has been so loud that it is potent enough to give Modi the comfortable space he needs to promote his goods suppressing his failures.

The Congress party might be thinking it has time to improve on the economic mismanagement before the next general elections scheduled for 2014 believing it can sail till then (though valid doubts persist about it). The Congress party believes that ‘public memory is short’ and they would soon forget the corruption cases on the UPA-2 leaders as our home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had said on the coal scam and UPA-2 involvement.

But the Gujarat elections are just two months away – certainly there is no room for the Congress party in Gujarat but to hanker over Modi’s local failures that might not be damaging enough to damage Modi’s chances.

Then there are other vital factors supporting Modi.

To continue..
