The best way to know the self is feeling oneself at the moments of reckoning. The feeling of being alone, just with your senses, may lead you to think more consciously. More and more of such moments may sensitize ‘you towards you’, towards others. We become regular with introspection and retrospection. We get ‘the’ gradual connect to the higher self we may name Spirituality or God or just a Humane Conscious. We tend to get a rhythm again in life. We need to learn the art of being lonely in crowd while being part of the crowd. A multitude of loneliness in mosaic of relations! One needs to feel it severally, with conscience, before making it a way of life. One needs to live several such lonely moments. One needs to live severallyalone.

LIFE EVOLVES EVERY DAY

My reflections on life – in quotes (LXXXIV)

"Life evolves every day.
It has to be a daily event.
See what was in yesterday.
Learn what today had in store.
And look inside to realize,
What you need for tomorrow."

JULY 1 HONG KONG MARCH: MORE PRO-DEMOCRACY VOICES EXPECTED

Hong Kong is bracing for its largest protest in more than a decade after nearly 800,000 voted for full democracy in an unofficial referendum, a move likely to stoke anti-China sentiment in the former British colony. – Al Jazeera

The vigil night on June 4, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Protests and the Tiananmen Massacre, yet again reaffirmed the hope that in spite of China’s efforts to suppress the voices of protests demanding political reforms and more space to democracy, they refuse to die.

And just within a month of landmark protests of the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Massacre (drawing around 2 Lakh protesters, largest since 1989 in Hong Kong), another landmark day comes, when the autonomous island of Hong Kong is scheduled to have its annual handover day march, tomorrow, on July 1, that is to begin from the iconic Victoria Park, the epicenter of the huge June 4 protests.

WHAT RAHUL GANDHI SHOULD DO? FIRST SET OF SUGGESTED MEASURES

If Rahul Gandhi has to stage a comeback he needs to transform his political persona and style of politics.

If he has to stage a comeback, he needs to begin with his political persona first as the recently held parliamentary polls were a decisive mandate against him in Narendra Modi Vs Rahul Gandhi fight.

He needs to change how he looks and sounds politically. He needs to work on the primary level of his communication interface first, being direct and responsive.

The way he looks: Rahul Gandhi should start wearing more of jeans, T-shirts and other casual stuff that most of the people put on in day-to-day life - seriously. Attire does affect our long term thinking and as we are fed up of the ‘Khadi stuff’ and the politicization of its appeal, Rahul’s that look will appeal more.

Politicians have become synonymous with many, many negative things and the ‘Neta style Khadi attire’ has become synonymous with this lot of politicians. Rahul has failed to connect with the masses including the Young India and a change of attire and a ‘daily/regular approach agenda’ would be a refreshing start.

WHAT RAHUL GANDHI SHOULD DO?

He tried all. He worked hard. He covered the vast distances and he tried to map the whole country.

Had a brilliant team of highly educated professionals.

Debuted with his forming a coalition-led government in India where his family was having the undisputed central role.

Started taking centrestage in party-politics and the governance affairs when his party’s government was doing well.

And had the time to play on it and play it big as his party’s government continued to be in power for the next five years.

Comes from a family that has ruled the country most of its independent history that he tried to weave in his discourses to further his political career.

THE DAYSPRING AT THE GANGA

Varanasi is because the Ganga is.

The Ganga ghats in Varanasi are the lively ecosystems of human living where life is always in motion, full of vibrant shades defining the every moment of day in its inhabitant’s lives.

A morning with the Ganga is the quality time worth living every day and a memory worth revisiting every day.

Sharing the moments of a morning with the Mother River when a day steps from the slowing rhythm of the night to the energized urge of the daybreak to evolve into a fully blossomed morning - soft, caring and motivating – is an experience of the lifetime.

It is a story that can be told and retold every day. It is a story that remains forever young, with Mother Ganga, with the Ganga ghats, with its mysticism, with its spirituality, with its flow of being Banarasi, with people from every walk of life and with people who are an inseparable part of this ecosystem.

And it is equally riveting to capture the moments.

Come, and be enchanted.

NETHERLANDS VS MEXICO: ORANJE STOLE THE MATCH FROM THE GREEN BUT NOT THE SHOW

It was much, much better match today between Netherlands and Mexico.

Mexico had almost won the game till the 88 minutes – but this is what the thrilling uncertainty of the Beautiful Game – in six minutes, the Dutch were all around – scoring 2 goals to take home the victory 2-1.

And yes, the equalizer came in style, with plenty of substance when Sneijder hit a superb kick that looked made for the Mexican goalpost only, two minutes before the regular time of the match was to end – in the 88th minute.

And Marquez’s mistake gave the Oranje the opportunity that they were destined to encash – the winning hit - and Jan Huntelaar scored the winner by converting the penalty sending it past the goalkeeper – yes, the penalty is raising questions – but it is done now – but is a good food for thought that it could have given us more heart-stopping moments given the pace and the style the match had come to gain by then – post 88 minutes.

BRAZIL VS CHILE: CHILE DESERVED THE WIN AS WELL

It was Yellow Vs Red – it was the sea of Yellow in the stadium – in the biggest sports event being held in Brazil - making ‘Yellow’ the global flavour – in India as well - Brazil were unbeaten against Chile at home so far – and they remained unbeaten – the ‘Yellow’ crowd was humming loud – as heard and visible on my TV set.

Brazil Vs Chile – the first match of the ‘Round of 16’ of the FIFA World Cup 2014 was overall a quality World Cup game of 127 minutes – (45+1+45+3+15+1+15+2) – obviously excluding the minutes of the Penalty Shootout.

Brazilian attack and Chilean defense were at par. In fact, if we see the match as the World Cup enthusiasts (that I am) and not as die-hard Football fans, it was a dramatic game where Chile bettered their game beating expectations while Brazil were not what a Brazil’s fan expects from the team.

THESE RAINDROPS ARE LIKE YOUR MEMORIES..

These raindrops are like your memories,
Sometimes,
They come to heal this burning mind,
And sometimes,
They make the heart so restless,
That the falling rain,
Leaves me with the ‘feeling of not being’

THE CLOUDS HAVE ENVELOPED

The clouds have enveloped,
I pray for the rain to come soon,
Lest again, that it, too, become,
Like waiting for you to come,
That, I remain occupied by memories,
And this evening, too, is spent simply..
